Behind the Scenes: The Making of The Thirty Two

The Thirty Two only came into being when we had something to say. 

If it didn’t feel as if we were reaching further than the boundaries of our art and science, we simply wouldn’t have bothered.

Its genesis was found in a serendipitous happenstance of events, time, relationships, and that fertile substrate for artistic expression: emotion.

Dr Rohan’s past role as CEO and Clinical Director of a large dental company allowed him to gain a unique breadth of knowledge. An internationally-recognised expert in his field, his lecturing across 5 continents to other dentists every month for 8 years, afforded him a unique insight into the very best in global techniques. 

Most importantly, his travels also allowed him a keen sense of what clients from every corner of the Earth actually want. Eventually, he felt a calling to distil this experience into a project back home, that would completely reimagine the way dentistry is done.

We first started with the most important element, the People. Our band of empaths and experts has been carefully curated to make it feel as if you’re with family, every time you come in. To be on the team, it’s not enough to just have expertise in your field, you also need to be a great person, an excellent conversationalist and not be boring.

Once the key stakeholders were in place, we plotted where our collective centre of gravity fell in regards to vision, culture and emotion. The place that authentically represented our collective spirit. That place is The Thirty Two.

There’s a vein of subversion that runs through rebels, artists and innovators – the best kind make sure it’s not a self-indulgent folly, but used for a very deliberate purpose: Adding positive social value. 

Not only do we want to elevate the experience of a dental appointment to a cultural activity, but we’re also trying to cast our trajectory further than where culture exists.

We’re not into following trends; we’re into what resonates with the here and now, the us and the you.
